A Family Adventure

The Painted Plank is a family owned business in Lake County, Ohio. Our family works together to create a perfect finish to every project. Lauren meets with each customer to careful explain the process and assist with color selections. She is also the painter for every project. Corwin preps the cabinets and furniture, as well as provides pick up and delivery service. The kids even assist in removing hardware from furniture and advertising to everyone the meet!

Our family began a decade ago, when Lauren and Corwin met in the United States Coast Guard. While serving, Lauren completed a Masters Degree in Business Administration and completed 2 overseas deployments. After 8 years, she left the Coast Guard to raise the family. Corwin retired a Chief in the United States Coast Guard with 20 years of service. Our family has settled in Lake County and finally set roots to raise our 7 children. We thought it was the perfect time to focus on building a family business, too.

We are actively involved in our community. Each year, our family selects community projects that we want to focus on. In 2019, we sponsored a local tball team as we began to develop our business. We decided in 2020, that we would expand our community support and donated 10% of profits to community organizations. We also assisted The Perry Center in coordinating their annual “Perry Bunny Baskets.” We helped them expand the program and manage the donations. Our focus for 2021 is to provide Christmas decorations to families in need. Our family loves Christmas and the fun times we spend decoration and preparing. We thought it would be a great community experience to donate used decorations and distribute them to families, whom otherwise, would not have them. We want to bring families together and give parents a chance to experience the magical preparations for the season. We will again, be assisting with the “Perry Bunny Baskets,” and are in the works of planning a couple other project.
